City-County Compost Pile open for the season
As usual, this spring the city-county compost pile is busy again. This year the compost pile got a face lift. With new signs, and a widened access approach the pile is ready for use. A reminder that the city-county compost pile is only for leaves and grass. Brush, branches, garbage, concrete, construction or household items are not allowed. The pile is not for commercial use, and there is only manual loading and unloading allowed.
The pile is maintained jointly by the City of Grand Rapids Public Works and Public Utilities, and Itasca County Environmental Services. It is appreciated that you help keep the compost pile clean and safe. If there are any questions, feel free to contact Itasca County at 327-2857
