420 N. POKEGAMA AVENUE

The mission of the Mississippi Riverfront Committee (MRC) is to reconnect the community to its historic riverfront, encouraging private and public partnerships that will foster commercial development and civic spaces grounded in aesthetics and environmental stewardship.  Further, the MRC will perform tasks as requested by the Grand Rapids Economic Development Authority (GREDA) and advise the same as to ways and means in which GREDA may better serve the Grand Rapids community as it pertains to issues relevant to the Mississippi River and its riverfront. Furthermore, the MRC will work collaboratively with neighboring governmental entities to more effectively pursue its goals.

The MRC will rely on the updated Riverfront Framework Plan for guidance and insight, in the development of a yearly workplan, and as the basis for recommendations to the GREDA.

The Mississippi Riverfront Committee is in the process of establishing a permanent meeting schedule.  All meetings are open to the public.
