The Administration Department is the home of the City Administrator, City Clerk and Human Resources Officer and first point of contact for the public.  The City Administrator oversees the functions of other as well as the implementation of the City Council's policies and decisions. 

Examples of functions managed by Administration are:

  • Prepares agendas and provides support information for Council meetings and various Boards & Commissions.
  • Facilitates the activities of the City's management team to carry out Council actions.
  • Oversees public service delivery by all City departments.
  • Prepares the annual City budget for Council consideration.

  • Administers various licenses and permits.
  • Provides City records retention and data practice services.
  • Administers local & State Elections.
  • Represents the City with Federal, State, county, and other City governments agencies such as the Minnesota Department of Transportation and Itasca County.
  • Coordinates the activities of the City Attorney's office.
